Acupuncture and Laser Therapy, based in Dublin 14 is owned and run by Rhona Darcy (FIMLS, Lic. Ac. C. Ac. Nanjing, China. MAFPA). Rhona trained as a Medical Laboratory Scientist and has worked in many hospitals. Having experienced the benefits of acupuncture first hand, Rhona decided that she wanted to help other people benefit from this ancient form of therapy. Rhona has a very strong interest in treating Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME) and helping improve Fertility .
Her 3 years of training in the theoretical, practical and clinical aspects of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture culminated in 5 weeks working in Gulou Hospital to gain advanced clinical experience.
After becoming a fully trained and qualified acupuncturist Rhona set up Acupuncture and Laser Therapy at her home in Rathfarnham.
Therapies offered include Traditional Chinese Medical Acupuncture, including ear acupuncture, electro acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping, Laser Therapy and EFT
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a gentle tapping technique used to resolve emotional issues. EFT is excellent for stress resolution, pain management, weight problems, smoking cessation, phobias (fear of flying, public speaking, needles etc). Once learned you can continue to use it for anything that upsets you.
Traditional Chinese Acupuncture
Traditional Chinese Acupuncture is the world's largest drug free healthcare therapy. Practiced in China for thousands of years, the principles on which it is based are timeless. A typical therapy session will include acupuncture, moxibustion and cupping.
Laser Therapy (Low Intensity)
Lasers can be used instead of needles and are especially useful in certain conditions when combined with acupuncture.
Skin disorders: Eczema, psoriasis, acne, chilblains, warts & ulcers and scars (post-operative and trauma)
Smoking Cessation: Research shows laser therapy is the best way to minimise the withdrawal symptoms for those trying to quit smoking.
Sports injuries: Lasers are particularly effective in treating sports injuries, especially when combined with acupuncture.
