maSamba is dedicated to collective music making, creating opportunities for others to experience Latin - American music in an achieve and inclusive way
maSamba was born on the wave of enthusiam following the success of the 1994 Big Bang Festival in Dublin. maSamba are community musicians - a band that is open to all and we aspire to achieve the highest standards in music and dance. We rehearse together on a weekly basis in the centre of Dublin and new musicians are always welcome.
Samba is primarily street music ideally suited to animate any outdoor event. maSamba specialises in street parades and have performed music and dance at many premier festivals in Dublin and throughout Ireland, England, Mexico and, of course, Brazil.
Through numerous club, pub and festival appearances, we have developed a stunning stage set, incorporating music, vocals and dance.
In Brazil, samba music is always accompanied by dance and we are delighted to be working with professional samba dancers who have performed at carnival in Rio de Janeiro and San Paulo as well as many of Dublin's and Ireland's best musical venues and events.
