What to Expect From Your Session at Shen Acupuncture
Your first acupuncture consultation and session will last up to an hour and 15 minutes. This is a detailed consultation by the acupuncturist covering all aspects your heath and includes your medical history, diet, lifestyle and current emotional well-being.
Martina will then examine your pulse and look at your tongue. These are traditional Chinese methods to determine energy blockages or weaknesses in the meridians. It is only after all this that the appropriate points will be picked and the acupuncture needles inserted.
Subsequent treatment sessions will be shorter - usually 30 - 45 minutes.
Shen Acupuncture is a VHI, BUPA, VIVAS & HSA approved practice, which means that you may be able to claim back a certain amount of your acupuncture costs, depending on your particular plan.
