Having hydrotherapy at The Hydro Clinic was definitely a great experience for me. I’m 32 and for the last 10 years I’ve suffered from bowel trouble, IBS was the diagnosis. I had had hydrotherapy in another clinic a number of years back but the experience wasn’t so great. It wasn’t the colonic that was the problem – it actually made me feel very good – it was the advice and after care that was lacking. So when I made an appointment with Niamh at The Hydro Clinic I was already aware of the benefits of the therapy but I thought I was in for the same care. Oh how wrong could I beʽ! Niamh was professional, friendly, caring and very knowledgeable. I had a full course of treatment which is very reasonable considering the cost of other therapies out there. It struck me that Niamh is not merely a Colonic Hydro-therapist but also knowledgeable in other alternative therapies. She combines herbal implants and iridology to her treatments and is always keen to dispense dietary and supplementary advice to ensure that all the good work done by the colonic is maintained. The iridology was brilliant to have done – I didn’t know the eye could say so much. From what Niamh said it can give her some useful insight into the state of one’s health as well as highlighting possible weaknesses or tendencies for weakness in specific bodily systems or organs. She was able to tell me that my colon is susceptible to sluggishness and spasms – remember this is before I told her anything. As part of the treatment and on Niamh’s advice I had several herbal implants; she explained that the herbs are very effective at reducing inflammation and spasm in the colon as well as enhancing detoxification. After a course of treatment I felt so much better in myself and my bowels have settled down. My energy is noticeably improved and I feel more relaxed in myself. I think the most satisfying thing of all was the way Niamh empowered me about my health. She helped me understand some of the issues that may have been at the core of my complaint and how I can better go about managing not only the health of my colon but my general health as well. She offered me some simple dietary, lifestyle and herbal advice to help me achieve better colon care. If you’re considering this therapy then Niamh is definitely one of the best around.

As a first timer I was very nervous about getting the treatment, there was no need to be at all. Niamh really put me at ease and the treatment felt just like going to the loo (bikini waxing is much more painful). I felt a little tired after the first treatment but had a great sleep that night and woke feeling clean and light. The second treatment was much easier and after the third I felt like a new person with tons more energy, glowing skin and I have lost 7lbs! I did stick to the dietary advice which was excellent. The personalised supplements based on my Iridology reading really helped my food cravings. I cannot recommend The Hydro Clinic highly enough, Niamh really knows what she is doing even just talking to her is such an education. One tip, book a course of three and follow the diet - if I had stopped at one treatment I definitely would not have received the same benefits.

I am 31 and have had digestive problems including serious bloating and wind for over 10 years, increasing and decreasing in severity. These coincided with many symptoms which about 5 years ago were identified as at least being partly due to candida, as well as other things. I started studying nutrition, went to see nutritionists, acupuncturists, psychologists (just in case it was all in my head!), allergy testers, osteopaths, herbalists, colonic therapists, I can’t even remember how many people. I have kept pretty much to a strict diet and taken endless supplements, major detoxing, you name it. In my fifth year of all of this now, many things have improved but I just haven’t been able to shake the bloating and burping. I had a test and found out I DO have a parasite, a really nasty one to try and get rid of too, which is why even extreme measures for years haven’t dealt with it, despite getting rid of candida and other problems. So now I’m two months into a strict parasite-killing campaign and it’s going okay, not fun but at least now I know what I’m dealing with. If I hadn’t seen Niamh I think it would have taken longer to get to this point. I’ll be getting more colonics as part of this plan, I firmly believe in them for helping with countless problems. And Niamh has been a real pleasure to go to for them (never thought I’d be using the word ‘pleasure’ in conjunction with colonics ).
