A very sucessful Rose of Tralee
This years Rose of Tralee festival has been a fantastic success. This is great news for local business and the local economy as a whole. Great credit must also go to the Rose of Tralee orgainising comittee for the fantastic line up of free street entertainment.
This is very welcome news for Tralee in light of the recent damning article by Mr cusack in the Independent. There was very little trouble in the streets and also a great Garda presence is also a welcome sight.
Speaking to some local business owners in the town and they are all vey happy with the festival. Bernard from Cassidys told me he was very busy throughout the weekend.
On sunday last the Rose parade started and finished at The Kingdom Greyhound Stadium and was another success story from the weekend. There was a full programme of racing as well as lots of other activities for all the family. Toby World provided grand prix racing for the kids and there was also a bouncy castle. Debenhams ran a kids fashion show and all the Rose Buds were also in attendance. Great credit to Brendan Maunsell for all the hard work he put in to get the show on the road.
Hopefully this year being the 50th Rose of Tralee and being the success it was can continue on from here and keep the crowds coming back. It truly is a great weekend and makes me very proud to be from Tralee.
