Darragh O Shea Retires

Darragh O shea announced his retirement from Inter County football today. His loss will be massive as he has been the backbone of Kerry football for the last decade or so. Darragh's commitment to Kerry football could never be under estimated as he has been the top midfielder in Ireland for the best part of ten years now. Darragh has made 81 championship appearances with Kerry which is a record and with Darragh being a midfielder it makes this record all the more remarkable.

Darragh is playing senior county football since 1994 and has the remarkable haul of 6 All-Ireland medals, 9 Munster medals, 3 national league titles along with 3 All star awards to his name. He has also scored 1-31 in Championship football.

Darragh has obviously thought long and hard about retirement from Inter County football and has had to weigh up alot of factors to come to his decision. Im quiet sure every genuine GAA supporter the length and breath of the Country will wish him well as Darragh bought so much enjoyment to the game with his high fielding, which was worth the entrance money alone to many games. This was one of Darragh's strong points along with his excellent foot passing and his ability to motivate the younger players around him. The was the real leader of the Kerry team for the past decade and will be sadly missed by all supporters of Kerry football.
