Fantastic News for Tralee and Kerry

Pharmadel, a company based in Midleton, Co Cork is the lead promoter in a very ambitious project that could possibly bring in excess of 4,000 jobs to Tralee. The whole aim of this project is to build a "centre of global pharmaceutical excellence" in Tralee.

Among those involved in the project is Alan Dukes, chairman of Anglo Irish Bank and former leader of Fine Gael, Mr Dukes was quoted this week saying that " he had been involved with the project for the past six months but that it was still very much at an early stage"

A website, gpce.ie, says the global pharmaceutical centre of excellence would be a €4.6 billion project which would be located in a campus-style facility in Tralee with a commercial and corporate orientation. It envisages the campus being the largest place of employment in Ireland and the largest research and development centre in the world.

This is truly a remarkable and very ambitious project indeed and all thought still at a very early stage every TD, the I.D.A and all government bodies and our Co Council have to get behind this project and leave no stone un-turned to bring this to a stage where it gets the green light. The impact this would have for the Tralee area and  Co Kerry as a whole is remarkable, the new jobs and all the spin offs a project of this scale would create would really put Kerry on the world map.

I know it is still in its infancy and at a very delicate stage but lets all hope this gets the go ahead and the funding needed, as Tralee has been neglected for long enough and this would totally transform Tralee and the whole of Kerry and bring an unprecedented economic boom to the area.
