Major security operation planned for Traveller court appearances
With about 30 people due in court this coming Friday in relation to the ongoing traveller fued that has tarnished the image of Tralee, armed gardai and riot police are expected to cordon off the area around the courthouse. Local businesses are worried about this and some are thinking about not even opening up their businesses on Friday. This is a very sad situation indeed, businesses are finding it hard enough in the current economic climate and with sky high rent, rates and all the other overheads that come with running a business today, to maybe have to close their business for a day because of these houligans who contribute nothing to society and only seem to causing trouble for fun.
This fued seems to be getting worse and there seems to be no end in sight, the gardai can only arrest and charge these houligans, but the judges seem to give them every chance possible, most of these houligans have lengthy criminal records and should have no more ''Last Chances'' the good people of Tralee are fed up with them. About two years ago a certain person was in court on various charges, he had 79 previous convictions and a certain judge gave him ''One More Chance'' How many chance do these people need??? They are making a mockery of the justice system in this country. One only has to read the local papers every week and it's nearly the same people in court every week for various crimes commited around the county.
Maybe the 3 strikes and your out approach, where these people are put into chain gang, hard labour prisons like certain states in America should be considered for this country. But of course the ''Do Gooders'' would be out in force complaining about civil rights and so on. What about the civil rights of ordinary hard working people who are the victims of these criminals!! This is something I just had to get off my chest and I am totally sick of this fued and all that goes with it.
