May Weekend in Kerry

MAY WEEKEND IN KERRY

As we approach another Bank Holiday Weekend here in the Kingdom of Kerry and we all hope for a good weekend weather wise to help lift our spirits from all the doom and gloom of the financial crisis and everything else that gets us down.

The biggest event in Kerry this weekend is no doubt the International Rally of the Lakes which is one of the biggest events in the calendar year for motoring enthusiasts . This event normally brings very large crowds to Killarney for the weekend and is a terrific economic boost to the whole area around Killarney, so hoping all goes well again this year and I also hope that the very small minority in the of “Boy Racer” brigade who cause sleepless nights for the residents in Killarney with their silly antics of racing, donuts and the rest with overly loud exhausts,  will give a little consideration to the residents this year, as said it is only a minority who can cause so much grief.

This weekend sees the extremely talented Caoimhe Garvey in the semi finals of “Fame” the musical on RTE. This young lady has an amazing voice and no matter what happens this weekend she has a very bright future ahead of her. If you haven’t heard her yet just click HERE to see her on YouTube.
