Last sundays Irish Independent carried a story about all that is wrong with Tralee. Reading the article you would think we were living in a crime ridden, drug infested ghetto. True, Tralee has its social and crime problems but what large town in Ireland does not. It seems all too easy for certain sections of the media to focus on the negatives of an area and not to mention all the positives, There are some fantastic businesses and people in Tralee and the local community are doing an awful lot of good.
I personally have never witnessed drug dealing openly on the streets, not to say its not happening, but there are drugs in every town and village in Ireland. We have some fantastic facilities in Tralee like The Kingdom Greyhound Stadium. The Aqua Dome, Toby World, Sports Complex. We have some fantastic businesses up in the Kerry technology park and The Tom Crean Centre. Great hotels and restaurants, some of the finest beaches anywhere within a couple of miles and The Rose Of Tralee festival to mention but a few.
