WHAT IS TAPAS?

Tapas originated in the south of Spain at the beginning of the nineteenth century in the form of a slice of bread or sausage literally to cover, 'tapar' one's glass either to keep the insects away or to stop drinkers getting too tipsy!

SEAFOOD SALAD

Surimi (firm white fish, sweet tasting), baby squid, clams and mussels marinated in olive oil, lemon juice and fresh herbs. All served on a bed of salad.

KING SCALLOP

A generous sized king scallop (roeless) wrapped in smoked streaky bacon and grilled with a drizzle of pesto dressing.

STUFFED FIG

Fresh fig stuffed with goats cheese, wrapped in cured ham, coated with orange blossom honey and baked.

LAMB MEATBALLS

Prime shoulder of lamb minced, balled and served with a tomato sauce with a kick.

CHORIZO ROUNDS

Slices of spicy chorizo sausage cooked in a light puff pastry

CARMALISED RED ONION AND GOATS CHEESE BRUSCHETTA

A generous slice of goats cheese with caramelised red onion served on crusty ciabatta bread.

 

 

Mains

 

LAMB BURGER

An 8oz Pattie of Prime Lamb mince with a hint of fresh rosemary, topped with caramelised onions in a soft white bap, served with salad garnish and our own house chips (with cheese €11.50).

ROASTED POUSSIN ***

Small tender chicken, roasted whole and stuffed with white pudding and pearl barley with a cream white wine.

GUINNESS BATTERED COD & CHIPS

Atlantic Cod freshly battered and fried to a golden brown served with sumo chips & sautéed marrowfat peas with mint.

MUSSELS

Steamed mussels in a cream white wine sauce.

SEAFOOD PLATTER

3 scallops wrapped in bacon and panfried, served with a 4oz medallion of Atlantic Cod, marinated seafood cocktail and ribbons of oak smoked salmon. All served on a bed of mixed leaf salad.

Smoked Streaky bacon married with mature English Stilton. Served on a bed of salad, with sundried tomatoes, cherry tomatoes & fresh basil.

FETA SALAD

Feta cheese with roasted red peppers, sundried tomatoes, cherry tomatoes & fresh basil. Served on a bed of cos and lolla rosso leaves
