This weekend has a variety of events taking place so you are sure to find something that will please you and the family.

Saturday – For those who love to keep fit and active today you will not be disappointed. In Naas you can join the Naas Cycling Club on an introductory group cycle where they will show you the ethos when travelling in a group. Come prepared for a 30km cycle out and around Naas. Cycling not for you? How about a free timed 5km run at Naas Racecourse? The people at Parkrun have managed to attain over 650 events to keep people motivated to staying fit and healthy. Want to do your bit for a local cause? Well this Saturday sees Kill’s Annual 10km run take place at 4pm with a new 4km fun run added to the agenda to suit everyone. The money raised this year will go towards the Saplings School and the GAA club.

None of these to your liking? There are classes starting this Saturday which focus on the wellbeing of your child. At AMI Punchestown School parenting consultant Gaye Mullen has two workshops being held that day which are €25 each. In Clane the people at RelaxKids are beginning a new 6 week term to help children who are overly active and full of energy to calm and relax themselves.

There is also the option of relaxing on the day by strolling around the market and seeing the local produce on offer. Naas Farmers Market opens every Saturday from 10am until 3pm in the courtyard behind the Trax Brasserie just off Main Street with a variety of stalls on offer. Or if you a closer why not pop into the Clane Farmers Market who is at Dowling’s parking lot every week between 10 and 3pm.

Clane Musical and Dramatic Society are holding an audition workshop at the Westgrove Hotel from 10am in preparation for their upcoming production ‘Kiss me, Kate’. If you want a relaxing evening in while listening to live music then McAuley Place might be just the place with David Ayer’s Quartet performing soulful jazz music from 7.30pm.

Sunday – The morning begins early with the Kill Scout Group holding a car boot sale from 10am at Scoil Bhride in aid of raising funds for a new scout den. The Clane United Golf Classic takes place at Millicent Golf Club with tee off at 12pm. After the golf they will have live music and a monster raffle from 7pm at Manzor’s. For retro car lovers then Mondello Park is for you as the Capri Club of Ireland are holding a Retro Stock Car Show with the opportunity for car owners to take advantage of the International track on the day.
