One of the key aspects of executive coaching is developing specific goals agreed to by all in the coaching partnership.  Developing goals should always take the wider business objectives into consideration and simultaneously the coachee’s own developmental goals. There should be no conflicts between the two.

·    Ensure each goal is Specific, Measurable, Realistic, Archivable and Timed.  Using the SMART goals toolkit.

·    Setting goals helps give focus and helps ensure you achieve success.

·    Goal setting makes you think what is important to you, your values and what direction you want to take.

·    Goal setting will give you more control over your time and how you prioritise.
